A Community Interest Company

What is a Community Interest Company (CIC)?

A community interest company (CIC) is a type of limited company that is primarily focused on benefiting the community it serves, rather than making a profit for private shareholders. CICs can undertake a variety of activities, including small local projects and large-scale health services.

More information about the purpose, identity, asset rules, profit rules, governance & legal identity of CICs can be found on the Gov.UK website.
